Maiden Voyage to Greenland

One of the founders of In the Know Traveler is on a unique voyage this week: he is part of a small group of press that is flying on the first journey from North America to Greenland, in what will become a standard on-stop flight. Leaving from Baltimore, Maryland the Greenland-USA route will officially open in May 2007.
This ushers in a whole new tourist destination, one that was only open to Europeans or those traveling from Europe. 81% of the country is ice making for great winter sports, fishing, hiking, kayaking, polar bears and dogsleds, will no doubt be a big draw from the West.
