Argentinean Tourism Officials Celebrate New Flight between Chicago and Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires, January 2nd, 2008.- The success met by the American Airlines daily route between Chicago’s O’Hare and Buenos Aires’Ezeiza airports – inaugurated on December 13th this year – represents another great step towards increasing the traffic of tourism between the United States and Argentina, according to Eduardo Piva, director of the Argentinean Tourism Board for the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
“We are happy to have opened another door for those American tourists who hope to visit us, and enjoy the present and delightful Argentinean warm weather, along with a sophisticated change of scenery, delightful lifestyle, superb wine and cuisine, and stunning architecture,” Piva said.
According to Domenico Matinata, regional director of American Airlines South American routes, all of the first week flights ran to capacity. He reminded, as well, that until next March, the round trip flights will have a bonus of 5,000 miles in Executive Class and 2,500 in Economy for those who select the AAdvantage plans, as long as their tickets have been purchased a week before departure.
The route, using Boeings 767-300, with a 219 passenger capacity, 30 seats in Executive Class, and 189 in Economy, runs the 5,600 miles itinerary between Chicago and Buenos Aires in 11 hours and 10 minutes.
This new flight gives direct access to Argentina from all of the northern cities within the United States and Canada, such as Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, Des Moines, Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle, Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto.
Piva says the response to the new flight demonstrates an increasing American preference for what Argentina has to offer. “We offer the best possible experience in cruises, golf, fishing, culture and adventure. Our hotels are first-rate, the gastronomical experience is unmatched anywhere, and we have one of the most modern and efficient air and land travel systems in South America.”
