A southern California native, Michael Henderson gained a love and appreciation for the outdoors at an early age. As an adult Michael has traveled extensively since 1994, venturing across Europe, the South Pacific and New Zealand, all while living out of a backpack. A freelance travel writer and photographer, he loves putting his passion into words and images for others to enjoy and learn from. "Traveling with an open mind breaks down cultural barriers and makes the world more of a community", Michael believes. "We are all so much alike, regardless of political differences. I've made friends everywhere I've traveled, and I'm a better person because of it". Michael is always seeking out new travel adventures and destinations, as well as returning to some favorite foreign cities, villages and islands.
